Sous Chef

The Links is a new and exciting restaurant in the heart of Tenby.

We are searching for a talented Sous Chef with a proven track record in good quality restaurants. This role will suit someone who has the ability and creativity to assist our Head Chef in developing the kitchen brigade and menus to establish The Links as one of the most highly regarded restaurants in the area.

As Sous Chef you will report directly to the Head Chef.

The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:

  • Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
  • Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
  • Assisting the Head Chef with dish development and menu/recipe creation
  • Overseeing all sections of the kitchen
  • Supervising, training and motivating chefs of all levels
  • Being responsible for health and safety
  • Being responsible for all food hygiene practices
  • Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
  • Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including hygiene and food safety guidelines

You must have:

  • Level 2 or 3 Food Safety certificate
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, at a minimum of 2 Rosette standard
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)
  • Competent level of English spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of all sections
  • Good team management and communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of modern cooking techniques and trends
  • Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and the skills of those working with you
  • Possess a positive and approachable manner
  • The ability to work as part of, and lead a team
  • The ability to implement new ideas and processes

Desirable qualifications include:

  • City & Guilds 706/1 | 706/2 Catering
  • NVQ Level 2/3

Junior Sous Chef

The Links is a new and exciting restaurant, opening soon in the heart of Tenby.

We are searching for a talented Junior Sous Chef with a proven track record in good quality restaurants. This role will suit an already established Junior Sous or someone who is already a confident and skilled Chef de Partie, wanting to progress to the next level within a kitchen that is striving to make The Links one of the most highly regarded restaurants in the area.

As Junior Sous Chef you will report directly to the Head Chef.

The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:

  • Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks when necessary
  • Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
  • Assisting the Head & Sous chef with dish development and menu/recipe creation
  • Overseeing all sections of the kitchen
  • Supervising & motivating junior chefs
  • Being responsible for health and safety record keeping
  • Assist in maintaining all food hygiene practices
  • Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
  • Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering

You must have:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
  • Minimum 1 years experience in a similar role at Rosette standard
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)
  • Competent level of English, spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of all sections
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of modern cooking techniques and trends
  • Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge
  • Possess a positive and approachable manner
  • The ability to work as part of, and lead, a team when necessary
  • Willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
